The Marlette Historical Society was formed in 1985. In 2014, the Society was granted tax exempt status as a Public Charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code. The Society is an all volunteer organization the depends on donations and fund raisers for operating expenses. Admission is free. The Society houses its museum for Marlette history in the historic 1890 Marlette Train Depot on the south side of town. Meetings of the officers and board take place at 4:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month from May to October. Meetings are open and we are always looking for new members.
The Society's Mission is to preserve, advance, and disseminate knowledge of the history of Marlette Michigan, and its surrounding environs, for future generations to appreciate and learn from.
