Don Redman, President of the Marlette Historical Society accepts a check from the Sanilac County Community Foundation in the amount of 1500.00. THANK YOU SCCF!
Marlette Historical Society gives back to the community
President Don Redman presented a check for $600 to the Elementary School. Accepting the donation is Principal Luke Reynolds and counselor Katherine Allen. The funds were raised through the sale of luminaries at our Old Fashioned Christmas event held on December 7, 2024. There is a great need this year and we are so thankful that we could help because of the generosity the community displayed by purchasing the luminaries! Thank you!
In January, The Marlette Historical Society received a grant from the Sanilac County Community Foundation to purchase the equipment and supplies needed to catalog and digitize the collections in the Marlette Train Depot Museum. Our Secretary, Sandy Davis, has been spearheading this effort to identify, categorize, and inventory our artifacts using a computerized database.
This effort has led to the revitalization of our business and medical exhibits and has also resulted in the creation of a nerw Veterans' exhibit

Thanks to a generous donation from one of our members, Shelby Combs, the Marlette Historical Society was able to purchase a storage building. This will provide a much needed space to store items that are not part of our collections, and will provide a space to store items that are not currently displayed as we rotate items in and out of our exhibits.
Thanks to a grant from the Sanilac County Community Foundation, the Marlette Historical Society is currently in the process of digitizing its inventory of artifacts.
